Oltre la ricerca del Graal, il divenire del mito
2014
A mythologist's study of the Graal cultural tradition. Using Francesco Zambon's recent Metamorfosi del Graal as his starting point, the author undertakes an analysis on the importance of the Graal in Western mystical, philosophical and literary traditions throughout time, from the impact of the medieval Graal stories on the matière de Bretagne and beyond (Troyes, Boron), to the appeal of this myth in modern times, including its occurrence on Richard Wagner, Martin Heidegger, Simone Weil, Italo Calvino and Umberto Eco.
Arte Tedesca e Arte Degenerata. Aspetti della politica culturale del Terzo Reich
2011
Hitler A Bayreuth. Storia di un'amicizia (1923-1940)
2013
Running-phase state in a Josephson washboard potential
2005
We investigate the dynamics of the phase variable of an ideal underdamped Josephson junction in switching current experiments. These experiments have provided the first evidence for macroscopic quantum tunneling in large Josephson junctions and are currently used for state read-out of superconducting qubits. We calculate the shape of the resulting macroscopic wavepacket and find that the propagation of the wavepacket long enough after a switching event leads to an average voltage increasing linearly with time.
Non-Gaussian noise effects in the dynamics of a short overdamped Josephson junction
2010
The role of thermal and non-Gaussian noise on the dynamics of driven short overdamped Josephson junctions is studied. The mean escape time of the junction is investigated considering Gaussian, Cauchy-Lorentz and Levy-Smirnov probability distributions of the noise signals. In these conditions we find resonant activation and the first evidence of noise enhanced stability in a metastable system in the presence of Levy noise. For Cauchy-Lorentz noise source, trapping phenomena and power law dependence on the noise intensity are observed.

Tres artistas en el exilio: Max Aub, Félix Candela y Josep Renau
2020
Three artists in exile focuses on the historical diaspora provoked by the Spanish civil war (1936- 1939), and how it influenced three prominent figures of the cultural scene of that period: the writer and typographer Max Aub Mohrenwitz (Paris, 1903-Ciudad de Mexico, 1972); the architect Félix Candela Outeriño (Madrid, 1910-Raleigh, US, 1977); and the artist Josep Renau Berenguer (Valencia, 1907-Berlín, 1982). They are the three protagonists of this article, who were simultaneously living in Mexico during the exile and who made notable contributions in the fields of arts and humanities (Max Aub), architecture (Félix Candela), and graphic design and photomontage (Josep Renau). While they were…
Noisy dynamics in long and short Josephson junctions
The study of nonlinear dynamics in long Josephson junctions and the features of a particular kind of junction realized using a graphene layer, are the main topics of this research work. The superconducting state of a Josephson junction is a metastable state, and the switching to the resistive state is directly related to characteristic macroscopic quantities, such as the current the voltage across the junction, and the magnetic field through it. Noise sources can affect the mean lifetime of this superconducting metastable state, so that noise induced effects on the transient dynamics of these systems should be taken into account. The long Josephson junctions are investigated in the sine-Gor…
“Podalirius” o “Polidarius”? Da Arrigo da Settimello a Guido delle Colonne
2016
This paper is dedicated to the defence of the variant "Polidarius" (and not the correction in the vulgate "Podalirius") that occurs in all the manuscripts of Henry of Septimello's «Elegia» (book IV, line 209). "Polidarius", however, has many attestations in Medieval Troy literary tradition (Joseph of Exeter, Benoît de Sainte-Maure, Guido delle Colonne) and is an alternative, correct and good name for the famous mythical doctor, son of Asclepius and brother of Machaon.
